Employment Opportunity: Multiple Positions within the Ida County EMS
Ida County EMS is now accepting applications for multiple positions, with a start date on or around November 1, 2024. Ida County EMS staff members respond in quick response vehicles to all EMS calls in Ida County and other neighboring jurisdictions as requested. Ida County EMS provides on-scene care and will accompany volunteer ambulance services to the hospital when needed. Ida County EMS also assists volunteer agencies with administrative and training support as requested. Ida County EMS will begin providing 24/7 service in November 2024 and the anticipated annual call volume is approximately 800-1000 calls for service. All full-time employees will work 16 and 24-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with:
No required on-call time.
Part time scheduling is flexible.

Lead Paramedic – Full Time:
The Lead Paramedic will serve as the primary contact for Paramedics and AEMTs working for Ida County EMS. The Lead Paramedic will exercise leadership within the EMS Department and reports to the EMS Director $24.42-$29.05 per hour DOE.
Paramedic – Full Time/Part Time:
The Paramedic responds to and provides emergency care to the sick and injured. While not providing emergency services, the Paramedic engages in a proactive community-oriented EMS program the seeks to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of the community. The Paramedic is a vital part of the EMS system and is expected to be a leader during emergencies and an expert in their craft. $23.42-$28.05 per hour DOE.
Advanced EMT – Full Time/Part Time:
The Advanced EMT responds to and provides emergency care to the sick and injured. While not providing emergency services, the Advanced EMT engages in a proactive community-oriented EMS program the seeks to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of the community. The Advanced EMT is a vital part of the EMS system and is expected to be a leader during emergencies and an expert in their craft. $18.20-$22.75 per hour DOE.
