Ida County City Enrichment Support Grants Information

PURPOSE: Maintaining and developing Ida County Cities as communities with quality-of-life that people want to live, work, and play here.

Subject to funding availability and at the discretion of the Ida County Board of Supervisors, these funds are grant funds aimed to support quality of life projects in the Ida County cities of Ida Grove, Holstein, Battle Creek, Galva, and Arthur. Eligible projects must be open to the public, benefiting all the residents and visitors of Ida County. Eligible applicants are the city governments of the Ida County cities identified, as well as other nonprofit organizations and foundations with registered agent addresses in Ida County Iowa seeking to complete eligible projects in the Ida County cities identified. Extra consideration will be given to project applications that require demonstrated County support to qualify or be given preference for State or Federal grant programs.

Applications accepted: Beginning January 15th, each year.

Application Deadline: Close of business on February 28th annually, or if that date falls on the weekend, the end of the next business day. (Application Deadline may be extended annually subject to funding availability at the discretion of the County Board of Supervisors).

Maximum Grant Amount: 20% of project cost up to a maximum of $20,000

Disbursement: Funds will be dispersed after July 1st annually following the approval of application.

Eligible Projects: Eligible Project determination is at the discretion of the Ida County Board of Supervisors. Examples of eligible projects may include but not be limited to; Parks, Playgrounds, Streetscaping, Signage, Public Art and Murals, Trail Enhancements, and building revitalization to the extent of public facing improvements or renovation. Eligible 501c3 project activity that meets the goals of the Ida County Enrichment Support Grant Program shall generally qualify.

Example of eligible use of funds: Funds must be dedicated to one-time direct project costs such as professional fees, materials, and construction expense and other applicant project expenses identified at the discretion of the Ida County Board of Supervisors.

Ineligible expenses: Insurances, routine maintenance expense, fundraising or benefit activities, lobbying activity, ongoing utilities, prizes and awards and other applicant project expenses identified at the discretion of the Ida County Board of Supervisors.
