Horn Memorial Hospital contracts with the Ida County Board of Health and Ida County Board of Supervisors to provide Public Health Nursing Services to the residents of Ida County. The mission of Public Health is to protect and promote the health and safety of the community of Ida County by assuring the efficient provision of public health services with care and compassion.
Vaccine for Children (VFC) Immunization Provider
The VFC program provides vaccines for children from birth through 18 years of age who meet one of the following criteria: no health insurance, enrolled in Medicaid, health insurance plan does not include immunizations, American Indian or Alaskan Native.
Hepatitis B Immunizations for Adults
Hepatitis B vaccinations are available for adults 18 years and older. Private pay only.
Foot Care Clinics
Foot care is provided for persons who may have problems performing this care themselves due to visual or other physical limitations. Private pay only.
Communicable Disease Follow-up
Public Health is responsible for certain reportable diseases, disease outbreaks and foodborne illness outbreaks.
Ida County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
Mission is to identify, educate and train local volunteers who can help improve community emergency preparedness and be readily mobilized to supplement hospital and public health operations during times of major healthcare needs and promotes healthy living throughout the year.
Ida County Community Alliance (ICCA)
ICCA, led by Horn Public Health, represents more than 20 community entities coming together to assess Ida County health problems/needs and develop an ongoing health improvement plan.

A Matter of Balance Program
Evidence-based program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity level of older adults. Classes consist of eight, two-hour sessions.
You Are the Help, Until Help Arrives
Program designed to educate and empower the public to take action in emergency situations and provide lifesaving care before professional help arrives.
